This weekend in London we’ve spoken to well over 100 people and collected in the region of 50 CVs and expressions of interest. We’ve asked the HR department to contact six people with the intention to hire immediately, and we have more to process. From the 50 plus people interviewed, we have found at least 40 very suitable candidates."

For over 30 years, Moneycorp has been providing market leading, specialist currency services for migrants. As main sponsors of the Expos, we have helped thousands of Working In customers to get the best exchange rates for their moves to Australia, New Zealand and Canada. The 2009 shows were as successful for us as past events; well run by their excellent team of staff and well attended by individuals who are serious about moving overseas."

Jonny Griffith, Moneycorp

Working In Expos are the best in the market. We generate good quality leads, not the normal time-wasters we meet at some other Expos. 90% of leads move within 12 months. Surprisingly, we also meet a large number of valuable overseas visitors attending these UK Expos. Bring on 2010, we’ll be back!"

John Moynes, Excess International

The value of the expo is seeing the person in the flesh. We are pleased with the volume of candidates, and the quality in general has been very high."

[We’ve] spoken to at least 100 candidates a day, so close to 400 overall. Eighty-nine percent of those people are committed to moving to New Zealand. We weren’t expecting so many people."

If we advertise over here we get a lot of responses and not the right people. But we do get the right people from the expo. It’s a pleasure getting committed candidates. If you are looking at attracting candidates this is the place to be."

Gertrude Matshe, Account Manager, Medical Recruiters of NZ

Bayleys has experienced a positive response from marketing to UK migrants and has transacted millions of dollars worth of real estate to UK buyers... Hundreds of people have visited our stand and we have registered dozens of serious purchasers genuinely wishing to buy our properties."

Phillipa Calvert, UK Sales, Bayleys Real Estate

We met ACCENT Health recruitment at the Opportunities New Zealand Expo in Manchester in October 2006 and were offered a personal interview the following Monday where we discussed immigration, registration and working and living in New Zealand.

After the ACCENT recruiters returned to New Zealand the following week, we were in continuous contact by phone and email. They suggested a number of hospitals that might be suitable and when we had made a shortlist they arranged an informal chat with the clinical director of the Rotorua Hospital Anaesthetic Department. Within the week we were both offered our current posts.

As an Anaesthetist I have found work in New Zealand less stressful and with less time pressures than in the UK. There is more time to take an interest in patients’ ongoing management when seeing them in pre-assessment clinics rather than just before surgery.

Since arriving here we have found a lovely new home overlooking a lake and only a mere 10 minutes from work. Our son has found it quite easy to acclimatise to New Zealand life. He has already made friends and no longer thinks it unusual to wander around barefoot at school."

Andrew and Siew Bek Robinson, Anaesthetist and Registered Nurse, Accent Health

My husband and I came to New Zealand for a lifestyle change – we both love the outdoors and loathe traffic! We’ve found all that and more here. Coming to Audit New Zealand has been a brilliant career move for me. As an audit manager, I get to work with a variety of clients, and I also mentor junior staff, which is really rewarding. In my role there are always new challenges and people – it’s definitely never boring!

We also have a very comprehensive and innovative professional development programme at Audit New Zealand. We are really encouraged to take advantage of every opportunity to build leadership skills and to grow professionally – and personally.

When I first visited Audit New Zealand’s stand at the UK Expo, I saw “public sector” and nearly walked away because my UK qualification and experience are in the private sector. But in New Zealand all accountants do the same qualification, and the skills I learned in the private sector have been really useful. Now I’m really glad I stayed to find out more because I couldn’t be happier here!"

 Mandy Simpson, Audit Manager, Wellington

A relaxed lifestyle in New Zealand was just what Brit Michelle Leadsom and her Kiwi boyfriend were after. So when Michelle attended last year’s Opportunities New Zealand Expo, and discovered that Bank of New Zealand offers a range of exciting and challenging positions, the decision was easy.

Michelle moved to New Zealand a few months later and secured the position of Marketing Delivery Manager with Bank of New Zealand and she’s loving it! “The highlights for me are the relaxed lifestyle, friendly people, and the amazing scenery on your doorstep.” Michelle finds working for Bank of New Zealand varied and motivating, and loves the supportive and fun work environment - and a ferry ride to work each morning is a great way to start the day!

I love the outdoors and I love maternity care. New Zealand was a natural choice, says Cornelia Krebs, Midwife, Counties Manukau District Health Board. Making the decision from the other side of the world is not easy, but everyone from the District Health Board has been very helpful and welcoming.

The Auckland Regional Health Boards, comprised of three District Health Boards (DHBs), Counties Manukau District Health Board, Auckland District Health Board and Waitemata District Health Board, supports the provision of healthcare services to the populations they serve in the Auckland region. Our role within the recruitment team for the DHBs is to place healthcare professionals into suitable and satisfying positions.

Conny's midwifery experience was a perfect match for our midwifery unit at Counties Manukau DHB. She had the right experience and team fit for the unit. According to Conny “meeting the team was the highlight of moving to NZ as I knew that I had make the right decision as soon as I met them. My advice to anyone thinking of moving to New Zealand is to give it a go and just do it!"
